CHAPTER THREE have been bringing their old to new, good-time cover band music to audiences in and around the Western Cape since 2018. Chapter Three’s music has its roots in the golden oldies, blues, pop rock, popular favorites and also a little of the current variety of latest music.
Your guests will undoubtedly find our music familiar and entertaining. There is nothing more compelling than live music to make your event successful and memorable!
The musicians in Chapter Three have extensive performing experience. We customize our band from a two piece (Duo) to adding extra musicians like saxiphone and other musicians when requested.
So let's meet the band

STEVE GUILD
Drummer & Vocals
In the earlier years Steve was on the front line of Johannesburg original bands being offered to sign with RPM Records and playing concerts. During this time Steve played long with some of South Africa’s top acts – No Friends of Harry, Bright Blue, Celtic Rumours and more. His time was well spent playing the circuit in Johannesburg.
In his 20’s he moved to Cape Town got head hunted by original bands, e.g. One Big Rush and India which he spent a couple of years in and out of studio recording on albums and playing live gigs. Since then after settling down decided to move into the cover band scene where you will see him playing for Dusty Rhodes Band as well as Chapter Three.

IAN BLACK
Bassist & Vocals
Ian started playing as a drummer and studying music 22 years ago, and having grown up around a musical family and his father being a musician influenced Ian’s musical talent. In high school, Ian took music more seriously as he entered the band and gigging scene, this sparked the start of an education and a career in teaching that has span his entire life.
A few years after his drumming journey began, Ian noticed there was a need for bassists, and having heard that drummers generally make good bass players, he jumped at the opportunity to learn an additional instrument. This caused a ripple effect and was followed by a number of years of playing with various bands on many stages.
